FAQ's

Should I start with acoustic or electric guitar?

Either is fine. Acoustic builds finger strength; electric is easier on the fingers and great for rock/pop. We recommend starting with whichever style you're most excited about.

Do I need to buy an expensive guitar?

No. A decent beginner guitar costs £80-150. We can recommend specific models for your budget and goals.

How long until I can play songs?

Simple songs with basic chords: 4-6 weeks. Full songs: 2-3 months. More complex pieces develop over 6-12 months with consistent practice.

Can I learn without reading music?

Yes. Many students use tablature (TAB) exclusively. However, we recommend learning basic notation for long-term musicianship.

How much practice is needed?

Beginners: 20-30 mins daily. Intermediate: 30-60 mins daily. Regular, focused practice is more important than long sessions.
